i took the electric motor I bought at GIJOES going out of buisness sale several years ago out for the first time this morning. saw a few trout come up for flies as I was launching and noticed about 40 mergansers, half a dozen cormorants, several king fishers, a great blue heron and an osprey on the lake. was expecting it to be a good day. trolled just about everything I had and even stopped to cast spoons and spinners and soak some eggs but oly had a few hits, nothing made it into the boat. I did see 2 large trout come completely out of the water that were a golden color, survivors of the brown trout fingerling plants maybe. never could tell what was sipping flies off the surface. forgot the fly rod but since that lake is open till the 30th or maybe longer according to info I heard today I'll be trying it next week. saw the first angler I've seen on any lake in months launch his pontoon boat today.
