Can't believe it's the last day of the season for this lake. What a bummer. Took the day off work and fished 12-4:30pm.
It stayed cloudy all day with very low clouds that moved through the surrounding hills and looked lovely and spooky at the same time for Halloween. One can't complain about the day when you have the lake to yourself the entire time fishing.

Temperature was 50 degrees and the water temperature was 50.2. Most of the time there was very little wind and a few times it was mirror-calm. That made it perfect for P. to fly his new radio-controlled amphibian airplane. It was the first time he had it on water. It took off, landed and flew beautifully. He flew it the first time while we trolled. K was sitting next to him watching P's fishing pole while he piloted the plane. After flying about twenty minutes and then packing it back in the box, etc, he returned to his fishing pole only to think he had been dragging weeds when in fact it was a trout! Must be nice to fly RC-planes and catch fish at the same time......! (I think I'll just pack it in and stop fishing. ) The second time he flew the plane later in the day we plugged while keeping the boat stationary. No bites. By the time the day was over P. had boated three trout.

K. caught the first fish of the day, but could not land any more. He did have three more strikes but didn't button up. One strike knocked his pole over. The big one that got away?

Me, I piloted the boat, put them on fish and missed three strikes that never connected. I did see a Kokanee jump next to me that was in the spawning stage as he was brilliant red and black. Sure I would have liked to have had a fish for this last day of the season, but I still had a blast and can't wait for next year.
