We got out on the water real early... you know, 'bout 8:30.
Tried the channels on both sides of the island without much luck and decided to go east to the mouth of the river. Water temp was about 52 and air temp about 40. No wind! Lake level 17 feet down from full pool.

We caught 10 or 11 trolling back and forth over the flats near the mouth of the river. My brother in law was afraid to go up into the river because is was so shallow. (If you can pick your way thru the river channel the depth improves to 6 to 8 feet as you go up the river, even at current lake levels.) Picked up a 12 or 13 inch silver which we kept and a bull which we released. Not too exciting, but steady. We tried everything from a yellow spinner to shad raps in various hues to spoons. Caught one or two with each. Threw back quite a few shakers.

Got bored, went back west though the "boat passage" (it's now almost twice as wide as it was, much less scary to transit) and trolled off the stump field to the shore directly north. With the water so slick, and the fish jumping, I decided to put on a 4 inch black "wooly bugger", no weight, more than 50 pulls behind the boat. That proved to be the hot bait in those conditions.

All in all we probably caught 24 to 26 fish and kept 18 or so. Mostly 'bows. Got off the lake by about 2:30 and missed the rain!

Left my phone in my rig so I didn't get any pics until we got back to the house...
