Sprague has been pretty good these last few weeks. Largest today was 3 pounds 13 oz and 21 inches. Trolling small crankbaits at 1.6 to 2.0 mph on mono about 150 feet out. Fish have seemed to be concentrated and repeatedly going back over the same spots seemed to work well. Water temp about 41. bite was on between 12-3 then seemed to shut down.

It's good to hear that boaters are still catching the FAT Rainbows at Sprague Lake. I got "skunked" fishing Sprague that same day from the shoreline north of the Public Launch (across from Harper's Island). I fished from before sunrise to mid-morning (6:35-9:15 AM), and was casting a 3/8-oz. chrome Kastmaster slab-jig. A Russian or Ukrainian man next to me had some success using Power Bait by mixing Pink and Orange flavors together and waiting for his 14" and 21" Rainbow to pick it up off the bottom. He said to me (in broken English) that on Saturday (Nov 10th) he caught 15", 17", and 20" Rainbows using Power Bait, and he only had to wait 20 minutes between fish. He liked shore fishing beneath the 15'-high cliff straight north of the Public Launch area about 150 yards. I fished there too but caught nothing on my Kastmaster. There were four boats out in the early morning when I was there.
