I made it out to Chelan for a test run mostly. I haven't had the boat out since August, so I need to make sure it remembered how to float. After a few trials at the dock and Battery issues I shuved off and made it out to the lake from the PUD launch, to a wonderful north wind blowing across the lake, and a good 1-2 foot chop, Proceded out to the trench and sent down the gear and it didn't take long and the rod was bobbing away with a laker wanting to come see the above after life. We confirmed it's invitation to the BBQ and I placed it in the waiting area (Live Well) Down went the gear and invitaition again and another pass over the ledge I was currently on, and I had another guest accepting the invitation. It was placed in the waiting area as well. All in all, Joe with Lake Chelan Adventures is dead on as usual and the laker bite is hot right now. I was only on the water for an hour or so by the time I got out there. The wind makes if rather difficult.
The water temp is still fairly warm around 52 degrees, and watch the weather and be ready to adjust quickly for the conditions on the water can turn rather quick and be hazardus in a hurry.
I have posted a picture for a discussion with another member regarding a tool used to get to the bottom with out down riggers that is simple and inexpensive. The carry just the mettal clip alone in the down rigger accessaries at hooked on toys, and a 12oz ball and your in business for under $10.00.
Take care and be safe in this colder weather.
