I arrived at the west side park around 12:30, and saw a boat in the (non frozen) water. I was quite pleased to see it wasn't covered with Ice. first hour was slow for me, the boaters seemed to be knocking en dead, I also noticed a hatch going on and bugs being slurped off,the surface by trout. I couldn't believe this was happening.in 25° weather. after trying various bait set UPS, I found the winning ticket 5ft leader, sunrise power eggs with garlic scent first 2 were 12" lip hooked and released. Next was 12" gut hooked, I cut the gills and bleed it, it was kept for dinner. Next fish was 15" a nice pounder, lip hooked and released. Then around 3 I decided I had enough with the 25° air and went home. filleted, breaded, and cooked immediately. Cooked and ate the one i kept... Delicious, couldn't be fresher or higher quality, meat was steelhead red.
