There are nice bass in Larsen, have caught 4 & 5 lbs fish often using black spinner bait in pads, best to use at least 20lb test while fishing pads. This lake is full of fish. Please keep the larger ones and please release the small ones for our future fishermen & fisherwomen. Thank you & good luck

Isn't that in reverse? Nice fish by the way. I thought we are supposed to release the big fish to spawn and take some of the smaller (male) bass Thanks for your report however!

Exactly/ Leave the larger ones in the lake and take home the smaller ones.

I'm sure missafish meant the opposite. At least I hope so. Back in the 70's and 80's when there was no limit on bass and few anglers fished for them, even the smallest of lakes kicked out 5 to 8 lb bass regularly, but because everyone kept their bass back then, including the big ones, these same lake are not a shadow of what they once were when it comes to big bass.

Just a thought, but dump that 20lb. test in the pads. Try some braid. It is amazing for just that kind of fishing. Much leaner diameter.
Thanks for the Larsen report. Not enough from that lake.

Some lakes NEED some of the small fish kept so there is food for all that are left. Too many fish and they get stunted from lack of food. And it's best to keep the under 12" small fish.
