We fished near Site 6 on Lake Havasu, on the "Island". (Lake Havasu isn't listed in Mohave County. Sandy & I went out for a couple of hours at the end of the dock at our Snowbirder RV Park. Fished one rod with a hook and worm, another with a chicken liver, another with a mealworm and the 4th rod with a shrimp. We got no bites until the sun was mostly down around 6 pm. Sandy connected with 3 redear sunfish in about 20 minutes. I switched the other light line to a worm from the mealworm. It got bit by a catfish. Maybe a yellow bullhead. We left about 7PM to walk back to the motorhome. The biggest sunfish was 13 inches and maybe a pound and a quarter. We were pretty tickled. Most folks fish for stripers and it has been slow with their forage(threadfin shad) being centered way down the lake. The good old hook and worm outperformed everything else!
