The best result I have had with scent added to the presentation on this lake, and Island lake, is to put just a drop or two on your finger and rub it about 10-12" above your hook. That way the fish can still smell and locate your bait, but the smell will not overpower the bait. Sometimes the smell is too strong for the fish and they will not bite it. So with that said, the strong smell is above your bait, which then the fish will still consider the bait below even if the smell above is too strong.
