My Buddy and I decided to hit long lake for a couple hours after working all saturday. We decided to grab his aluminum boat, launch at the park and paddle around that end of the lake.

Well we carried the boat to the beach and pushed off, my buddy asked me to paddle towards what appeared to be top water action, I jokingly said "let me catch a fish, and then I will" we laughed and I made one cast along the bank before going to grab the oars. About half way throu my retrieve i was sure I snagged some weeds, but half a second after the hook set a nice cut flew about 2ft into the air, Needless to say I began bragging about how awesome I am at fishing, haha. Brought him in, decently girthy 14 incher, a little fight in him but not much.

After that it was slow, I hooked into another but it shook the hook while going airborne near the boat, probably 12 in or so.

All in all not bad for an hour or 2 of fishing. Long lake may not have the best fishing in the area but considering its 10 min from my house and consitently gives me my fix for fishin' I end up fishing it a good bit. Oh and Kastmasters with some color seem to kill it, orange and gold seem to be consitient.
