I have fished for Browns in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and of course Washington, and never have I ever caught a Brown on "power bait". I have caught tons of rainbows on it, tons of Snake River Cutts, tons of Yellowstone Cutts, bunches of West Slope and Sea Run Cutts on it, even a few Colorado Green Back Cutts, on it. I have even caught suckers on power bait. But never Browns.
Obviously you have, or you would not keep using it, but, word.......... might do better if you get away from the Berkley Power Bait while fishing for the Browns. Just a thought, but in the mean time, looks like a nice brown to me. Two thumbs up!

3/26/2014 7:46:00 AMI couldn't agree more. Perhaps I don't know how to work the site yet- but I can only figure how to post one bait and one targeted species. We have 3 rigs in the water at all times- one is always a Mack's tipped w/ night crawler, one is almost always a small trolling crank (what we've hooked most of the fish on in Liberty) and one is rotated constantly through lures like rooster tails, spoons, other cranks, etc. In addition, I would love to hook a massive brown- but in reality it would be more accurate to say that I'm targeting "fish." That big brood bow we hooked the other day was wonderful, I wouldn't mind hooking into a nice LM before the water heats up, etc.
I only throw powerbait to target the 5,500 planter trout that WDFW just put in there, I've never had any luck getting any natural fish on it. I appreciate the advice though- there's always more to learn. Cheers.

I cannot fish Liberty without spending some time for Walleye, Browns, LMB and SMB, so if I were to report, it would be tough. Tip on the Browns, right now fish with big swimbaits. Last year I was casting some prototype swimbaits I make that are over 4 inches in length and found the big Browns quite eager. Others using the standard spinners, worms, etc., were trying to get me to sell them my unpainted lures......... I am not ready to take a hobby that far. LOL
PM me some time if you want to exchange ideas on Liberty, but my largest Brown there went a little over 8# last year, C&R.
