Hit Tapps about 10am for some smallmouth action. Fished all over the lake. North, Mid, South. Tried Deep, Shallow, Mid depths....nothing. Finally got the Musky mid-lake in like 2 ft of water with an X-Rap Jerkbait. It weighed 10 1/2 lbs. A 1/2 hour later got the 2lb Smallmouth in 2 ft of water by the stumpfields at the Snag Island area???

After that nothing. Tried Drop shot all over the lake. Not a bite in any depth. Tough day. Water is down 4+ feet still, so there are no docks to fish, or banks.

Water was 53 - 51 deg everywhere.
Peace-

Nice Pic. on the Musky, I lived 2 blocks from lake tapps in the 70's & early 80's and had no idea that musky were there. caught my first musky 2 weeks ago in Newman lake, not sure on the weight but was about 45 inches.
Congrats on the Tigermusky

Nice musky and nice bass. Sorry to hear it was slow. Did you try a tube? Especially when the water is in the 50s, i have really good luck with them. Again, nice post. Nice bass.

Thanks guys! Yah, I tried everything. SM was caught on swimming jig. We tried everything. Al my favorite spots, and my favorite tubes as well. The fish are in isolated areas waiting to move up. Not sure why we didn't find any deep fish???

I was out there on the 1st the day the county launch opened. I tried everywhere too but spent most my time shallow hoping the bass would be moving up since the water temp was hitting the low 50's and rising then spent some time with the dropshot and jig deep. I too found nothing and did not even mark fish on the sonar not sure where they hide this time of year but they should be moving shallow soon. last year was my first year fishing Tapps and I started in the summer so I am not sure how the rising water effects the fish, if anyone knows I would love to hear. congrats on the catch nice looking smallmouth and muskie.
