Gave a couple of weeks after my last run up to Scooteney Reservoir, to see if the river of mud and tumbleweeds (due to the flushing of the irrigation project with spring upflow) had subsided. It had, and the water levels were good.
However, there were two other problems. First, it was blowing like heck up there (even though flags were lying limp in the Tri-Cities when I left). The surface disruption makes it extremely difficult to see fish under the water. Second, the carp really haven't moved into the shallows yet - I saw very few fish at all - very unusual for this area.
Guess I'll have to wait a couple more weeks or so...
