So took my son and 5yr old grandson out to American today on the new boat. Hit the water about 8:00am, I started fishing for Kokes on the wire, the boys went top water with Dick Nites. Fishing for about 15 min. and grandsons' pole gets slammed by a nice 14-1/2 in. rainbow, 10 min. later the my son has another nice bow. Within a couple hours they have 6 in the well and papas' changed rigs 3 or 4 times and has had all of one hit. Changed rigs a couple more times and finally decided if I can't beat 'em, may as well join 'em. Ended the day with 10 trout total and grandson grinning ear to ear. It just doesn't get much better than this! Back at the public launch, fish checker said grandsons bow was the biggest checked by 3:30 today. How cool is that! Also said it had been very slow for kokes.
