Woke up this morning at 5:15 on the dot. Got to the lake around 6:20 and was on the water at 6:35 after pumping up "Gator Bait". There were a few other boats on the water already. The water was like glass and the sun was just starting to rise over the trees. I set up my watermelon dick nite dodger and green "Kokabow Lure" tipped with corn and a small piece of worm. Took me 15-20 min to land my first koke of the day. Nice 12.5 incher and was fat full of feed. In about 10 more min hooked a trout the same size. No longer after letting out my line again my rod dances with another koke but smaller in the 10.5 inch range and skinny. The last hour and a half of fishing was the hardest as more boats and a row team came out. I ran into JD39 out there and briefly chatted with him. Good to see you again bro. The last 5 min was the craziest as the water calmed down again and was glass like, the fish went crazy biting. A lady that was still fishing from a dock hooked 4 fish in about 5-10 min. Insane.!!I hooked two more trout which I ended up keeping because I was usiing bait but was hoping they would be kokes. Right when I landed the last one I headed in and thats when the dark cloud stormed in with nasty wind causing some huge white caps for such a small lake. I was long gone and just in time to miss it.
Note- fish were caught all over the lake. They surfaced from the south to north end. I flat lined with 55 pulls and trolled at about .9 mph. I used the pink splatter back dick nite dodger with the pink Kokabow Lure tipped with a worm for the last two trout. Had tons of drive bys on that set up as well. Good luck and tight lines.
