We launched my smokercraft 17' at 8:00 am at the WDFW launch and trolled on the surface with a ford fender and a strung on night crawler with 1/2 oz. wt. and the other rig was a small dodger with a green hoochie on the down rigger at 35' down.
We fished for 3 hours before being blown off the lake with wind and rain. Two of us boated 3 nice rainbows,
14.5, 14, and 13.5 inches, and lost 3. The downrigger never got a hit. All 6 hits were with spinner and worm trolling at 1.5 MPH. Water temp. was 52 degrees. Still a little cold. I usually have the best luck at American when the water temp: is between 55 and 60 degrees.
