I hooked up with my good friend and mentor Charlie Liebert of East Wenatchee to target crappie on Moses Lake but they were no where to be found, so after catching a keeper walleye, Charlie and I took to jigging 3" grubs tipped with crawlers for the wally gators. The high winds on the main lake had us targeting calmer back water out of the storm and we ended putting two 8 fish limits in the boat. Fish averaged 14 to 16" and made for an awesome fish fry. Charlie's bonus 3 lb smallie put an exciting exclamation point on our day. Both North and South ends of Moses are currently producing fish trollers and jiggers as long as the weather allows. Target 7 to 10 foot depths with subtle drop offs with perch colored smiley blades and 1.5 oz. bottom bouncers or cast 1/8th to 1/4 dark colored tubes and grubs tipped with crawlers for scattered walleye spotted with your electronics.
