Fished Sunday morning on McMurray. Arrived at 6:30 am and found about five other boats on the lake already. By the time I left at noon the lake was very crowded. Probably fifty boats out. I was flyfishing with an intermediate sink line and trolling a black wooly bugger. Caught four rainbows in the first two hours and all were 14-15 inches. Nice sized fish, decent fighters, but they all had some sort of white parasite all over their fins and scales. (Mike or anybody else, do you know what kind of affliction these white things are?) I wouldn't eat those fish if you paid me to, but I catch and release so thankfully I don't need to worry about that. Talked to some other folks at the boat ramp who only caught one fish all day using powerbait. The fish stopped biting at about 8:30 am, not a single strike after that time until I left at about noon. Good luck and tight lines.
*editor's note: I don't know what the white stuff is, but I'll post it to the Reader's Forum for our WDFW expert Stacie Kelsey to answer.
