I took my two sons, age 5 and 8, to fish Opening Day on McMurray. It was a second choice when I discovered Cranberry Lake allowed no motors. We started fishing at 8am, the place was crowded but not jammed. It was a perfect day to be on the water- light winds, sunny, warming temps. We were fishing with power bait, red, the kids using a bobber as their attention span is not good enough to fish off botton yet. Around us, anglers were catching the usual planted rainbows. The pace was steady but not blazing. Our luck was not so good. We called it a day at 11am due to bored kids, having caught one nice 12" bow. Not very impressive but I strived to keep things low-key and let the kids enjoy the day without forcing them to stay longer than was interesting. Your results would be better I'm sure...
