Woke up at the crack of dawn and headed out to Silverlake for a quick fishing session. Got there around 6:30 and it was overcast and drizzling. There was hardly a soul around so it was nice and peaceful on the lake. The fish were no where to be found either. after an hour and a half of nothing I decided to pack all my stuff up and leave. As I finished packing up my chair I saw my pole double over. I darted over and picked up the rod but didn't feel anything. I waited about 10 seconds and, BAM! He hit again so this time I set the hook. About 5 seconds after I set the hook the fish comes jumping out of the water and stayed there all the way in. I got him into the dock only to realize that my net was packed up and put away, the dock was high up and he would have broken the line trying to lift him out of the water, so I had to tire him out while I got my net out and lowered down to scoop him up. It's my first triploid ever so i was pretty excited. He ended up being about 17" but i don't know what his weight was because my scale didn't work.

I gave it a 4 rating only because I had no other bites but this one fish. I was there for almost 2 hours. To be honest just being alone on a peaceful lake, fish or no, is a 5 in my book.
