Walleye fishing on Banks Lake is picking up steam. My clients and I boated 9 walleye over 20 inches this weekend on Banks with others in the 16-18 inch range. Banks also has an unbelievable amount undersized walleye (8-12 inches) right now as well. Banks Lake walleye now are in the 15-25 foot range feeding heavily on yellow perch as it appears many of the walleye have finished up their spawn. Macks Lures Smile Blades/Slow Death Hook Combination was the ticket this weekend. The fish are very mobile right now, however, so if you are heading to Banks be sure to cover a lot of water to locate the fish. Some key areas this weekend were the Devils Punchbowl, Poplar Bay, Kruks Bay and the Million Dollar Mile stretch.
