Was on the water at Newman around 12 30pm. It was our first time here.

We launched and took the short trip to the top of the lake (nearest pads) trolling tipped with worm and without, fished with bobber worm and bottom worm. Nothing, nadda, no-how. It was quite breezy up there so we trolled down the lake with spoons no luck.

I switched to plastic worm at the lower end pads and saw one LM come up with a lazy strike no hook. Fished that end for an hour or two for trout and LM but nothin'.

Around 4pm we cast at the bank near a corner headin' back towards the launch with a big billed crankbait and catch this sexy lil' Muskie, 25" of excitement..needless to say that helped my bummed attitude.

Continued towards the launch casting docks untill 5 30pm with no luck.

Cold breeze, some sun and one fish makes for a 2 rating today.

Hey Crud, I don't think they have stocked Trout in Newman for many years now. Check with the local F&W to confirm, but ........

Mostly a warm water fisher now.

Thanks for the response Anglinarcher.

I guess the only reason i thought there were trout in them there waters is because our "Info" section mentions some. That's probably abit old and maybe there are very few but not much to bother with.

I don't see Newman lake in the fish reg book..weird..
