So many lakes, so little time~ what was a guy to do? Since I had some banking business to do early in Ephrata decided that I would just start at Moses Lake and see what the rest of the day had in store for me.
While at the safeway in Ephrata, a guy came up to admire my boat ( or make fun of, not sure) anyway he said I should try a little deeper water over there for some bigger ones like 16 to 18 feet and just head straight out from the boat launch. Soiunded like a good idea to me so got the boat launch around 7:30 and did what he said so had the wally pop set up on one line and rigged a big green sparkle smile blade with 3 chartruese beads and a #1 slow death hook on the other. Set the lines down so they were dancing on the bottom and didn't take long to get my first one! I don't care what people say about these fish, they fight great!! Especially on light kokanee gear!! Definetely bigger as the 1st one was close to 16" and ended up working the area back and forth with 2 doubles where I went 3 for 4 !! Got 2 nice perch along the way too!
It was pretty close a tie as to what got hit more but as I was going for my limit got the biggest one on that had to over 20" and as I was reaching for the net, came up with just the hooks and spinner! Darn!!
Oh well, all in all an epic day that rounded out with a limit of trout at Park lake, met some more nice people and now have some nice walleye to bring back home to enjoy at a later date! Now it's time to get ready for the arrival of about 22 men and boys for our annual father/son weekend here at Sun Lakes!
See you on the water!!
