We were on the water by 7:30. Weather was high clouds, warm, and windy from the NE. Trolled using a variety of gear including sling blade and hoochies, lake troll and wedding ring, small dodger and pretty much anything else I could think of. Different speeds, different depths. I lost a couple early on, and had perhaps three more strikes over about five hours of effort, including 1.5 hrs. after lunch. Fly fishers in tubes and small rafts were catching rainbows within perhaps 400 yards of the launch, and still fishers were also doing well. Several limits of rainbows were taken out while we were there. It was a great day at a beautiful lake, even if no fish were caught by us.
Now for the editorial. Maybe if the "Speed Limit 5MPH" sign were 10' X 10' people would obey, but somehow I doubt it. Maybe, just maybe, the Kokanee are not biting is because of the power boats roaring up and down the lake.
