The last couple of Friday's have been very productive, but then from opening day until early summer I've always had good luck on Silver Lake. As I posted previously, the fine tuning of the blue collar fly fishing has been one of my goals this season. First discovery, bead size has an effect on the spinning of the smile blade. A smaller bead will have a negative effect on the spinning of the blade, I had a few larger beads in the tackle box (sorry I have not measured them) which I rigged up with and the blades spin at the slowest of troll speeds. The lead line experiments continue.
The fishing was consistent with hook ups about every 20 minutes. My Dad came alone so we had our limit in about two hours. Hooked into a 15 inch cut throat, along with the usual 10-13 inch planters.
