Thought we'd start fishing a bit earlier than normal. Didn't help us catch more fish, but sure had fun.
Fished 9-3:30pm. Windy all day which made it almost downright chilly. Water temps 66.2 and overcast all day.
Actually pretty nice temperature-wise aside from the wind.
For a holiday weekend, the Park was pretty slow due to lack of sun we'd guess. However, there were probably five boats fishing all day, which is a lot for this lake.
K. got the first fish, a nice cuttroat with a lot of red on his side. Lost him boating him. K. got two small largemouth bass in total and three trout in total. The last one is shown. Looks like a happy camper to us!
P. had no luck on trout, but did find 3 LMB and 4 pumpkinseeds. All smalls.
I got the most fish trophy. 3 trout, 10 pumpkinseed and 2 small largemouths. My best trout came on panfish gear with a tiny piece of worm and a bobber. That was fun. The sunfish all looked pregnant.
We think the rains of yesterday and the storms moving in forecast for tomorrow probably slowed what we thought would be a productive day. But all in all, a fun fishing day and hot dogs and potato salad kept us fed.
