Well after a long debate on where to fish and seeing that Toni has been doing well at Clear lake but the fish were on the smaller side yet I went to American to see if I could put a limit of kokanee in the boat. Arrived at 12:45 pm and spoke with a fellow fisherman who was packing it up and was trying for kokanee and trout with no luck and he said he arrived late. I laughed and told him I am just getting here so its never to late to fish. Headed out the middle of the lake and set the gear up and made my way around the to the north side after almost an hour first fish in the boat and a good fighter to. Reset the gear and did some zig zags around the north end with no luck so I changed up my gear after making a few passes knowing I have been in the fish and no bites I change up agian.......after trying almost everything in the box I put on a Pink Ice from Toni and wham another fish in the boat. Starting to look good so far so back and forth I go and no bites but no fish marked so i move on as I am heading back towards Silcox Island my pole starts the dance but very light so I grab it up and there is a fish I get it in no big deal and I laugh when it gets to the side of the boat its a little baby kokanee fit in my hand, released to grow up pretty cool to see the baby's that was a first for me. Anyway reset the gear and headed south and wham the rod pulls and its a big one take my time get it all the way to the boat and poof....gone. So I reset the gear and trun around and head back thinking if I got one I can pick up another so after a few passes I get four fish in the boat and I am a happy camper. All fish were caught on the DR stacked at 15-30ft deep dodger was a pink splatter back. They all loved Toni's Pink Ice tipped with the magical sweet corn. Took me almost 6 hrs so a bit long for a limit of fish but I am happy!!! Not a ton of people on the water but there were some, did not affect the fish one way or the other. Tight lines!!!

chismo, it took me alot of time to get my first one on the hook then a few tries to get them in the boat after that never looked back. They are creatures of habit and fishing for them is the same as far as speed 1.3-1.8 mph and what to use on the hook. After that is color choices and what they want to hit that day. Are you using a downrigger? IF yes then keep your hook around the 15-35 foot area and around 30 pulls out of the reel behind the boat, about 35 feet give or take a few feet. Keep trying and never give up. Be sure to use some shoepeg corn jolly green giant only. I find mine at walmart. good luck!!
