Fished Eloika after school from about 3:30 to 9:00... What a great day. Started off throwing a creature and trying to punch it through that pads, but I really couldn't get it to work, so I broke out the frog. Caught one small fish right off the bat, then I moved super shallow looking for beds. Nailed one about 3 pounds that was sitting in 1 foot of water. Lots of smaller ones for the next couple hours, working the shoreline from the launch to Jerry's landing. Lots of 8-10 inch fish on the outer edges of the pads, and I really had to work to get back into the vegetation to find the bigger fish. Right before I left, I caught my biggest of the day at about 4 pounds.
Zoom horny toads seemed to do the trick, didn't really to seem the color mattered, but I did catch the majority on plain black until I ran out of them. Overall I caught roughly 25 fish, ranging from less than a pound to 4 pounds. Drag the frog over the pads into an opening and hold on.
