I went fishing at the Mosseyrock Dam fishing area, off of Highway 12, yesterday evening. It was sunny with a little wind blowing. The fishing calendar rated it a Poor day. I got there at 5:00 in the afternoon. I counted about 12 other people fishing at various times, while I there. Not too crowded, with plenty of room to fish. There were quite a few fish jumping again.

I caught two silver salmon (land-locked Coho.) They were biting pretty good. I was using shrimp or worms for bait, about 6 to 8 feet down. The shrimp was working better for me than the worms.

I've heard the fish from riffe called landlocked salmon before. Just wondering if they're different from kokanee?

Yes, there seems to be a lot of confusion about this. As per the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Kokanee are Land-locked Sockeye Salmon, common name Silver Trout. Land-locked Coho Salmon have the common name of Silver Salmon.
