Had the afternoon off so I headed out to Long with my two daughters for some afternoon bass fishing. We ended up boating over 20 smallies and 1 largemouth. Most of the smallies were dinks but we did manage a few nice ones. We caught them from just down river of nine mile all the way to Tum Tum; best baits were tubes, clacking raps, spinner bait and buzz bait. It was great to have my adult daughters accompany me for the afternoon, my youngest can sling a bait caster better than any of my friends. It was great watching her run it along docks,I was just waiting for decent bass to crush. She ended up getting about a 2 lb smallie on it as it was bouncing a long the side of a dock, classic! Also tried for some crappies but the wind was blowing and all we caught were little dink smallies. Great way to spend an afternoon.
