I got a 2-day Idaho license and fished from the Indian Creek state campground. Using my 12' kayak, I trolled a green wedding ring tipped with a worm through the vortex formed as the creek (which is running high) empties into the lake. The mackinaw was 23" and 3 1/2 lbs. - the first mac I have ever caught. I also caught a nice 13" rainbow in the current that the creek makes running into the lake, using a worm.

The creek brings a lot of sand and rock into the lake making it shallow for the first 100 - 150', after which there is quite a drop-off. Many nice fish could be seen is the sand just before the deep water. This is where I got the rainbow while my kayak was anchored in the creek-generated current, and I assume most of those I could see were also rainbow.
