I decided to start out my Fathers Day with a little early morning fishing on Long Lake. I launched out of Nine Mile and headed down river towards Tum Tum where I hit some of my favorite places looking for some smallies. The difference between a week and a half ago and Sunday was profound; the water temp dropped 10 degrees with the cold front that came through, this really shut down the smallies. I did manage to catch 6 total, three were dinks, one was about 1 1/4 lbs and two were over 3 lbs. There was a little drizzle for over an hour of the 5 hours I spent on the hunt and almost no wind. I only saw three other boats on Sunday morning, one Lund chasing crappies and two bass boats, one of which obviously had the same plan as I did, I just got to the areas first. I spent the afternoon with my wife and daughters watching the Spokane Indians win so all in all an excellent fathers Day.
