I arrived at little Cavanaugh lake (southeast of gold bar, not skagit Cavanaugh) at about 8:00, what a mess the lake is, beer cans, broken glass, nails everywhere on the boatlaunch, looks like a bunch of degenerates have destroyed it. I launched anyway, rain was coming down steady, with steady 5mph winds with gusts to 10mph. And a bit chilly. I first tried chucking a kastmaster around and retrieve to no avail, I also tried trolling it, no luck. I switched to worm and bobber, not so much as a bump, I tried jigging the crawler, and drop shotting it, nothing.. I didn't see a single fish surface the entire time, so I left at about 10am, I most likely won't be back, even if there are trout in there.. The lake is HEAVILY littered, the landscape is ruined with clear cut logged forests, stumps and slash poles all along the road, and the lake besides the trash, just seems barren.I bet this lake was once a little slice of heaven before man ruined it.
