Well as a fly only angler, and a firm believer in catch and release fishing, I am ashamed to say, after spending an hour or so on the Yakima river, I wet a line in one of the Hansen ponds. Fishing was ridiculous. Nearly every cast with a crappy sparkly leech pattern would produce fish. Flies that I was once sorry I had ever tied were producing numerous strikes in one cast. If anyone has never fly fished before, and doesn't mind the terrible esthetics of being so close to the highway, they should try throwing a size 10 bright orange stimulator into Hansen ponds and pulling it in short quick strings. watching those trout drill it was entertaining, and I released them so some other sap could enjoy it too. (((not for those with any pride))) I don't get around to fishing stocked ponds very often, and perhaps this is what the action is always like, I don't' know. Fly fishing seemed slightly more effective than soaking power bait, so give it a shot. my condolences, ~too embarrassed.
