7/2/2014 11:21:00 PMPS, it's a good thing I didn't pee out the side of the boat afterall.

I decided to try and fish the south end of the lake today. Got to the launch and wow, the lake is breezy! Made my way past the state park swimming area and started fishing in that fresh looking lilly pads/cove.
First cast at 8:45AM.
Felt a couple of nips, but no real bites. And it stinks in that area. Looked like some sort of drainage system there. I wasted about 40 mins along that shoreline and docks.
I try to make my way up mid lake and the wind is just kicking my butt. Cant cast accurately. Cant get the right angles. Did my best with cranks and swimbait. There would be a slight break in between the wind and I will try dropshot or tube.
Managed my first SMB on a DS on a deep dock a little over an hour of fishing. A dink.
Then I caught a pretty big perch on a deep diving crank.
Moved across the lake to the other side to see if the hill would provide any cover. NOPE, same issue there. After about 15 mins or so, it seems to have died down a little bit. Graph is lit up with baitfish at about 20'. Betting perch and sure felt them. Saw a dead floating sunfish nearby.
Welp, that break from the wind didn't last. Tried to go with it, but blah. Was trying to decide to head home or not. Was trying to see if this day even deserves a 2, because technically, I did catch a SMB. But I kept going.
3 hours after my first cast, I was fan casting the swimbait towards the shore near a buoy and piling. Didn't feel the bite. Thought it was weeds due to the wind. Wait a second, it's fighting back, set the hook and it's a pretty nice SMB. ~17" @ 2lb 4oz.
I get to a point and start casting crank and swimbait and tried hopping a tube. Got a strike, but felt like perch.
Wind died down for a few mins and I caught a couple more dinks SMB on the DS.
