I wanted to go to Clear and see if I could catch fish all by myself. I think this is the 6th trip in the boat but only the 2nd by myself. I only got 2 kokanee last time. I still feel awkward fishing in it.
I forgot this was Sunday, but by the amount of vehicles already in the parking lot, it reminded me. I think I got there about 6:30am and left somewhere between 8:30-9am.
I launched and got everything deployed down to 35 and 45 feet down on the cable. I was headed toward the south side of the lake about midway. I trolled for about an half an hour before I got my first bite. There was a lot of grassy material in the lake. Some from the water and some from land. It made it hard to tell if it was bites or debris.
First bite was after I moved my gear up to 28 and 35. First bite also turns into first fish. When I lofted it in the boat and was waving at the green drift boat who was leaving as my other rod is dancing...nearly a double. First 2 bites equal two fish in the boat. Troll around some more for about an hour. I moved my line up to 22-28 and get 2 more fish in. Now all I need is one. Took me about 15 more minutes and I get a bite and loose it. I get another one and it comes into the boat. I got all these fish in 60-75 feet of water. I was using Dick Nite Dodgers Pink Splatter and Chartreuse HotHead attached to Wannafish A Lures Pink Splatter Squiddy Thing and a mini Squiddy Thang Pink. It was sunny and going to be in the 80’s today and we are in for a stretch of hot dry weather.
We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.
