Went to Matoon with the wife my Lab and a 1448 Grizzly. The boat launch is extremely slippery, good thing for 4x4.
I walked up to the lake s edge looking around, sizing up launch and wondering if I was gonna even try it out. Within a few seconds I saw a 12" bass swim by and a couple sunfish hanging out. Why Not.. Surprisingly with as much weeds in Matoon the water was very clear/crystal.

As my wife sunbathed I casted and threw small cranks/minnows. Fish after fish, caught tons of small bass and sunfish.
On the inside weedline of the far end of the lake I would cast parallel to the inside weedline, where weed and hard bottom and rock met- one after another, It was alot of fun.
Drove to Fiorioto lake but I just wAS SUNBURNED AND BEAT UP. So we called it a day and headed back to our camp.
