So after 2 grueling days of computer training I was dying to get out on a body of water and feel some wind in my face! Got home about 5 pm to an empty house with only 2 happy dogs to greet me as my wife was over in smokey Eastern WA visiting family. It was close to 90 degrees so quickly weighed my options and the last thing I wanted to do was get back into traffic towing a boat to find a place to fish; so saw my pontoon boat sitting anxiously waiting to get wet and decided today I would hone up on my skills learning how to fish out of it.

Loaded 'Big Blue' into my truck and made the 3 minute drive to Angle lake as I had called my friend who lives on the lake and asked if I could launch from the private area to avoid the crowds at the park. He was happy to oblige and soon I was gliding away from the shore to start my evening troll. I have found it easier to use spin rods when fishing this way as all I have to do is loosen the drag and row to let line out until I feel it is far enough then just tighten it up. I had one rod set up with clown dodger and pink hootchie with spin and glow plus gulp maggots and the other with a 50/50 dodger and the gilded lady also tipped this with corn.

Ran both lines out and started working my way around the lake staying along the shoreline in about 35 feet of water to 55 feet to the middle Worked the lake hard with out a bump but did manage to pull up a mess of line with lots of gear in that must have been floating around out there snagging peoples gear so was glad to get bring it in.

Not a stellar day fishing wise but what a beautiful way to spend the evening on a peaceful lake with no motor boats or skiers to tend with and pleasant people out enjoying another gorgeous evening on one of the great Pacific Northwest waters!

Looks like I may make it to the salt Friday morning as I have to have my daughter to the airport at 4 am and no sense going back to bed!! haha See you on the water!

We should bring "Big Blue" over to the Sky sometime... Thanks for sharing, Barry!

That is one of the main reasons I bought it! Looking forward to Saturday to learn more about fishing the Sky!
