kokanee kid and i took my boat to american. arrived about 830 am, and began scouting for some perch. seems nearly everyplace we tried, produces a few perch. all about 8-9 inches. no larger ones were to be found. lots of rockbass. we were anchoring in 20-35 ft of water. jiging 1/8 oz green jigs, with a piece of worm. using this method, i caught one kokanee, and two nice trout. total perch take was ten. i dont think perch show on fish id very well, if at all. so what part of the lake are the foot longers found at? were a bit dissapointed in the lack of perch, period.

The ones I caught were all scattered. Never caught more that one big one in one place. Couple around the north side of the big island. One off the point south of the launch and a couple across from there. White jig head with about 3in of curt tail power worm in pumpkinseed with red flake. 25-35 ft. I could not locate any big schools either

20-35 feet seems a bit deep for perch this time of year. Find the weedline and fish the open water side of it as opposed to the shore side. Should be in the 10 to 20 foot range. You may not get into the footlong fish exclusively, but you should get into enough fish to make your arm sore the next day. Perch don't ID on the sonar well because they hug the bottom, tight! You have to use the zoom feature in most cases to see them.
