It poured all day yesterday but when I got home from work it started to clear and the sun came out so I grabbed my pole and headed to Bradley Lake. When I got there, I set myself up on the north side of the lake and after making a few casts and hitting weeds it started to rain again. So I walked around the lake to find a better spot and when I found one the rain stopped and the sun came out again. The lake was smooth as class with a light fog coming off of it. I figured after a day of rain, the fish would be hungry.
I was right, except they weren't hungry for anything I was throwing at them. The fish started jumping and I was able to cast out to where they were but they weren't interested. I tried Kastmasters, various spinners, bobber with Powerbait, bobber with eggs, they just kept mocking me. The fish that were surfacing were at least 18" rainbows, a few probably larger. I fished for about 1 1/2 hours at various places around the lake until another cloud came by and a torrential downpour sent me home.
There are some big boys in that lake and they were hungry. I will be back to try some different tactics.
