After I had 3 cups of coffee, on the 28th, I called Kim to see if she could go fishing with me tomorrow at Alder Lake. She had been there last month and I have never been there. She said Yes.

We got to the lake around 7-7:30am I think, and launched. I started the big motor and was thinking about how nice it sounded when it died. I started it again and there was a funny noise and it wouldn’t start. I went back and shook the 6 gallon gas tank and it had barley any gas in it. Now I have got running out of gas out of the way!
Therefore, we used the kicker once again. I have been still fishing so it had plenty of gas.

We trolled around towards the dam, searching for kokanee. Saw what we thought were fish on the finder and had a triple (we thought) to loose the gang troll and lure Kim was using. I don’t think they were fish on the finder but maybe branches (30 foot) from trees laying on the bottom. We both had to leave to be home at certain times so I trolled back toward the launch but still a distance away when Kim got here first Alder Lake kokanee in the boat. She had a few bites but nothing stuck. This one inhaled both hooks. It was about 10 inches but stout.

I trolled in this same vicinity and I got one. Then Kim got excited with a bite and in pulling the rod out of the holder she put her thumb on the lever and got a big birds nest. It took some time but we got it cleaned up and back to trolling. With 2 in the boat we had to go. Kim reeled in and caught another. We had 3 fish that were 10 and 11 inches. It is a very pleasant area to fish. Our time on the water there weren’t any ski boats, in fact very few boats. When we got in they were replacing the gang walks and adding new docks.
Kim used gang trolls and Wannafish A Lure Patriot with anise or plain shoepeg corn. I used a Bahama Mama with a Wannafish A Lure Orange Agitator with corn and real maggots.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Mike, they are stout but not like the American Lake chunky. When you put your hand around them you could tell that they were bigger around than the Clear Lake fish.
Limit is 10 of them.
