Started fishing at ~8:45AM on a point where I've had some success. No bass there today. Saw lots of small bluegills(??) and perch.

Boated away to a deep dock with rocks along shore. Ran a crankbait in front of it and get my first bass of the day, just a dink though, maybe ~9".

Pitched a DS around the area and getting a little bit bigger SMB at almost 14". Tossed it back in there and get myself another dink right away. Continued along and made a cast into about 20' of water and get a bite as soon as it hit bottom. ~13" SMB and it was spitting out it's dinner. That's it for this area.

Decide to stop off at Fart Hole and see if anything will bite. I pull over about 50 yards from it and start working the docks and a bit deeper. Found a large school of what looks like squawfish, perch, bluegill, and fingerling SMB in the mix. Got a dink SMB off the end of a dock with crank.

I get to Fart Hole and 2nd cast in, I get a perch. A pretty decent size perch, almost 10" on DS. Reeling it in and I see a ~15" bass chasing it. Wasn't interested in the perch, looked like it was trying to get my bait.

Make several casts back there and get a dink SMB @ 10". Then caught a 14" SMB. I wonder if it was the one chasing the perch, very similar size. I see sonar is light up with baitfish. But couldn't get any more bass to bite.

Boated away getting closer to the north end. Worked a few deep areas and caught more dinks. Some of them were bait size. Surprised they even got hooked.

I see a boat up ahead working a deep point that I've had some success before, so I left and went farther north.

Working the area and I'm in ~20' of water and I see what looks like a fish on sonar on the bottom. I drop my DS straight down and as soon as it hit bottom, fish on! Just another dink at 10", but a fish is a fish. When I released it, I saw it on sonar and it went straight back down to the bottom. Very cool.

Getting toasty and hungry. Get a quick snack and making my way back south. I stop off along the eastern side. Started off in deep water first because saw baitfish down there. I get close to a T-dock and make several casts at different spots with the DS. Well, I made a slightly bad cast and was about 5' to the right, but kept fishing it. I see my line jump and set the hook. Fish on! And whoa, it feels like a quality fish. It quickly flashes and yep, definitely bass. I also see 2 just slightly smaller bass following it. There were 3 quality fish in a random spot.

I loosen my drag so I wouldn't break off and it starts peeling lots of line. Nice! I'm far enough away from the dock, I don't have to worry about wrapping it. The fish digs down again and it just stays down.....2 things popped in my head. This doesn't feel like a SMB, but if it is, it's now snagged on something. I put tension on the spool and lift up. I feel the headshakes when I do that, but the fish isn't budging otherwise. I tighten drag a little bit and lift up again. This time, the fish comes up and I finally get a good look at it and it's a nice LMB! Bonus fish! I see it keeps opening it's mouth to try and spit out the hook. I'm hoping it holds! The bass turns upside down... I'm thinking oh no, bad angle! Wrangle it and it gets back upright. Seems to be tired now and I get it into the net. Pumped up! Woot. My biggest LMB this year. Now I'm not sure if the other 2 fish I saw are SMB or LMB. But like I said, they were all very similar size.

~18" @ 3lb 3oz.

On the way back, I decided to stop off at Fart Hole again. Just a couple more dinks. Was hoping to caught a few decent size SMB so I could up my rating, lol.

Caught plenty of dinks and baitfish size bass today. In the double digits, but looking for better quality fish.
