Biked to Chitwood this morning. Arrived around 830 and fished till 11. Used flies and my 5 weight rod. Tried to raise some with dries with no luck. Finally had some action on a beadhead wooly bugger size 12, multi colored brown, olive and black fished under an indicator and stripped in slowly. Landed a 11" cutthroat and a fish that looked like a rainbow, about 10 inches, no cut but not really a true rainbow either.
Could have been a landlocked coho, state says they are in there. Lost one other fish and missed a decent hit as well.
Fairly warm this morning and I think it will be better when things cool off a bit.
Thanks to Jonb for letting me know about this nice little lake. Ran into Jon a couple weekends ago there, very hot and no luck that day, but nice to meet ya.
