My fishing partner and I headed out to Lake Aberdeen at 4:45 on opening day. We started fishing with bobbers, worms, and eggs. Right of the bat, my friend hooked into a decent 12" planter. Shortly thereafter, I caught a 18" rainbow. Things were fairly quick until we each had three fish. I then switched to a white rooster tail. I cast it out, let it sink to the bottom and slowly brought it back in. Nothing happened for the first 5 or 6 casts. The next cast, about six feet from shore, I saw a fish flash its side and my rod doubled over. After a nice fight, I landed a 28" 5 plus pound triploid. We left the lake shortly after that; me with four fish, my friend, BJ, with three.
