Meet up with SammamishYak at Sammamish today.

Foggy at the launch and parts of the lake. Lots of fishermen out on the water.

We stopped at a T-dock that I've seen fish in the past. Pulling up to it, saw some markings in deep water, so started DS in deep water first and working our way towards the dock.

Caught me a squaw in the deep water on the DS. SY caught several dinks on the DS as we're moving shallower. We caught several small perch.

We move to a deep point. Nothing there. Going down the shoreline, SY gets a nice chunky SMB ~15". It was digging down and going bonkers. Feisty SMB.

Stopped off at a deep weedline. I finally get a dink SMB. We both get several perch.

I took him exploring further down the lake. Uncharted territory for him, lol. We stopped off at the flooded timber field. I caught 2 really nice perch. Close to 11". SY gets a SMB. We move around in the fields looking for fish. Got me another dink SMB.

We're running out of time, so started heading back up north. Pulled over at the west side and worked some deep docks and points.

We were almost ready to call it done. I make a cast past a dock with the DS. I feel a bite, but fish isn't moving. I lift up and feel the weight. It's just sitting there. So I set the hook and it feels like a nice fish. It comes shooting out of the water and at first glance to me, looked like a LMB. It digs back down and rips a bit of drag. Finally get a decent look at it and see it's a pretty nice SMB instead. Scoop it into the net. A little over 17" and weigh between 2.94-3.06 pounds. Kept fluctuating and flopped back into the net, so called it 3#.

I was just saying how my recent outings, I've caught at least a 3# fish. So far up until this point, nothing but dinks for me.

Anyways, this fish got us pumped up. We went down this stretch of banks hitting the deep docks. SY tosses his DS and he gets one and looks like another quality fish.

My turn to grab the net and scoop it in. Another 15" SMB.

Out of time, he headed in. On my way out, I stopped off at 2 deep spots spending about 10-15mins at each without a fish. Felt a couple of small taps at each one, but didn't stick.

The docks at the park were packed! The parking lot was packed! Saw 2 rangers walking around giving out tickets to vehicles without permits.

Its always a highlight to fish with FF. Had a great time on the water. Its awesome getting to compare notes with such a focused fisherman.

I could have sworn the fish in the picture was 4+ when I saw it in the net! I think that scale is off fool. ;)
