I just had to try Lake Washington again. Even thought forecast looked like it was going to be a little windy, it didn't call for much rain. I started fishing at 7:30am with the same set up as last time, well after having to buy more and then switch to a higher test line. There ended up being more waves and wind then I would have liked. Also didn't see much for fish jumping or rolling and not as much on the fish finder. I had one coho on at about 8:30am while I was by myself, but only got it to about 10ft from the boat before it spit the hook. It looked to be a male coho that had turned color as it made about two jumps before spitting the hook. Definatly a challenge being by myself with that weather. I had one other release before two of my nephews came out to join me. At about 10am we got another coho on. I was wanting my nephew to reel it in, but he was slow to get the rod and was a little timid being it was his first salmon. So I reeled it in and netted it. It was a nice a bright hen at about 5lbs. He wanted to be the one to knock the fish out and use the knife to clean it. At maybe 10:30am, I look over and see the one of the poles is bouncing but not releasing. I have him release the line and then reel in. Ended up being a decent sized perch. Again more time goes by and one of the poles releases. I have him reel in, but notice its not pulling. He gets in half way in and the other poles releases with a definate fish on. I grab it and start to reel and when he is done getting the other pole in, I had the fish off to him and tell him to keep reeling. It is a bit different reel then what he is use too, but ends up getting and reels it all the way in to the waiting net. Again a bright hen about about the same 5lbs. More time goes but and we get a release but not much for pulling. He reels in and it ends up being a smallmouth bass. The perch and the bass came when at 55ft on the wire in just over 60ft of water. The cohos were also about 55ft in 70ft of water. It didn't seem like many were catching fish today due to the conditions. Several people passing by asked how we were doing and what we were using. Some were using the same set up but hadn't got anything yet. Maybe I can get away on Monday morning before all the rain storms come next week.

Thanks for the report! I showed up at the launch at Magnussen at 8:30 and the wind was blowing hard from the south and waves were whipping up so opted not to fish it today being solo. Glad you got some fish and made it safe! Can't wait to give it shot some day soon!
