I'm giving this a 4 since the fish seemed to be a little bigger on average than normal. Haven't been to rock lake since the spring, went to see what the prospects are. several bank fisherpeople, about 4 trailers in the launch area. steady wind from the south all afternoon approaching 20 mph, mostly sunny, water clarity was good with suspended algae flock. water is on the low side, you need to back the trailer wheels over the drop off to get the boat off the rails. went about half way down the lake, started trolling to see if I could mark any fish, zig zagged between 20-70 feet of water. got the first brown 16" on a small rainbow trout husky jerk. Not marking fish, fished some shoreline for a couple hours and landed about 7 all between 14-17" most were on a lucky craft jerkbait, but also a crawfish crank got some action, and had follows and bumps on a few other offerings. Moved farther down lake and ended up getting two more with the nicest of the day on a pumpkin grub, a hook jawed male in spawning colors. tried the cove on the west end near the launch, on the way back in no follows or other signs. fish seem to be pretty active and cooperative, water temps were 58. all were browns and cr'ed. fish were getting landed from the shore when I was launching and when pulling out, so the shore fishing seemed to be working.
