11/15/2014 4:11:00 AMI got there at 12:30 yesterday & fished until 3:30. I got 4 and my buddy got 10. We even released a few that were darker in color. We saw you guys - we were right on the bank across from you. The dock is cool because you can fish 2 poles, but the honey hole is closer to the bank, so you either need to cast a long way out from the dock or you need to move closer to the fish. It's also about time - right now w/the temps, that corner seems to get more sun & stay a little warmer.

11/15/2014 4:22:00 AMOh - level. They seem to be hanging out around 3 feet below the surface. Another reason I'm on the bank is w/polarized glasses, you can SEE them (on sunny days). Schools of them will follow a lure in if they are around. If you're using power bait, you'll need a bobber & sinker, or if you're fishing from the bottom w/a longer leader, you'll need to put a puff ball on your power bait to get it to their level. Power bait eggs don't seem to float too well while the power dough floats much better (but falls apart after a while). Use SMALL hooks (size 10 or 12) for power bait. Yesterday, the Kastmaster was the ticket. My buddy was catching one almost every cast. It was also the 3rd size kastmaster, not the smallest. (about 1.5 inches long & 1/4 ounce)

11/15/2014 8:19:00 AMThanks Pat for your assistance. I can see that I was fishing below the schools. Bites did seem to be on the retrieve, when it was much closer to the surface. Question 1: Are you saying that the honey hole is to the right of the dock as you face out at the lake (more north-east)? There is a definite deeper hole that I saw on the bathymetric map, and should have checked my GPS when there to verify location. We never saw the schools, so we were a little off the mark. It has been quite cold. Question 2: Are you saying that the honey hole gets a little more sun light and stays warmer and more suitable to the fish? Your comments are appreciated. It is temping to run back down there today, but I suspect weekends can be busy. I do have a raft that I could bring...

11/15/2014 1:21:00 PMAfter reading your initial report again, I realized that it is likely that the pelican/heron snatched away my fish also. I was sure I had one on, then the line shot over a different direction and the line went slack.

11/15/2014 6:01:00 PMThe fish seem to follow the sun so when it starts hitting the bank, it's best first on the far west side, then moving around the north to the east side.
