Left my home in Edmonds to head for Green Lake, temp was 22 degrees... arrived at the lake about 6:45 AM, temp was 27 degrees... just goes to show that the temp will be warmer as you get closer to the equator!! Lines in the water by 7:00, on the northeast shoreline... already several fishermen on that shoreline. Got to a spot and began fishing with fl. orange Power Eggs on one rig, shrimp on the other, 3' leaders (hoping to entice a passing Brown!). Water temp at the shoreline was 51 degrees... cold nights have really brought down the water temp. Took a while for the fish to begin biting... had first hit about 8:00, no hook-up. About 8:30 reeled in my first Rainbow, then it was pretty consistent thereafter, had five fish by 10:00, beside losing at least four that let go of the PE at the shoreline, before I could net them. After 10:00 there was a definite lull in the bite. Reeled in my sixth about 1:00, then could not get another to stay on the hook. Had at least two dozen more hits, some of them on the line half way to shore... couldn't get them to stay on. Changed up hook size, PE presentation, leader length... nothing seemed to help. All fish caught on fl. orange PEs. Left the lake about 3:00 with six Rainbows, one at 12 1/2", all the others at 13" or longer.
Bright sunshine all day, with a persistent breeze from the north that began about 1:00. Temp remained cold all day, temp at only 42 degrees when I left. Saw several fish taken by Cormorants and much larger flocks of them than in recent weeks. Saw quite a few fish taken by other anglers nearby. Still lots of fish left in Green Lake! PTL!

Was the other angler wet on both feet and arms? Must be Seattle Pat. Haha.
