I went the past few days and it's been getting steadily worse. Hundreds of people taking 10 a day and hundreds of cormorants taking 4-5 a day depletes the stock pretty quickly.

Yesterday (Thanksgiving) I got there at sunrise and caught a fish my first cast w/a chartreuse/orange vibrax. I caught on Dick Nite's, jigs, vibrax...pretty much everything. Best hit was on an orange rooster tail - the fish was fairly bright and pretty big (they've been getting bigger every day) and he hit that lure like a train! It nearly yanked the pole out of my hand as I was daydreaming during my reel-in. I fished until 10 - catching 10 and keeping 6 (a couple were given to me, too). Even though the fish were big and fairly bright, I was surprised that every one was pale in color. It was the first day that not a single fish I kept was orange, so they're on the downward slope.

Today (Friday) I got there just before sunrise. It was windy and pouring rain. I started off with a vibrax and saw the fish chase it all the way to the bank, but no takers. I forgot my Dick Nite spool, so I was slightly handicapped. I tried Kastmaster's because it was so windy. Bumps but no takers. Once the wind died down I went to rooster tails and my Fishcreek Spinner I got from Wa. Lakes - I hooked up w/the Fishcreek spinner, but he spit the hook just before I landed him. I kept changing until I got one that worked...my famous magic jig w/the pink/white curly tail grub. He was fairly big but starting to change. I almost kept him but noticed a weird green slime around his gills, so I tossed him back.

That was pretty much the only one I landed. I had a couple more hook-ups but they got off before I pulled them in. Left by 10 with cold hands and a wet back (I found a hole in my rain coat!)
